Are you tired of manually transferring data and events one-by-one from Google Sheets to Google Calendar? Well, with the Sheets2GCal Google Sheets extension, you can seamlessly sync your spreadsheet data to your calendar with just a few clicks. In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of using this handy tool along with your Course Planner.

Step 1: Install the Extension

First things first, head over to the Chrome Web Store and search for "Sheets2GCal". Click on "Add to Chrome" to install the extension. Follow the prompts to complete the installation process.

Step 2: Open Google Sheets

Navigate to Google Sheets (sheets.google.com) and open the spreadsheet you want to work with (in this case, open your course planner). Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to edit the spreadsheet.

Step 3: Authorize Access

Upon using the extension for the first time, you'll need to authorize access to your Google account. Don't worry, this is a standard procedure and ensures that the extension can interact with your Google Sheets and Calendar seamlessly.

Step 4: Access the Extension

Once installed, you'll notice the Sheets2GCal option in the menu bar of your Course Planner under extensions. Hover over it to access the extension's features.

Step 5: Configure Settings

Before syncing your data, it's essential to configure the extension's settings according to your preferences. In your Course Planner, add a new tab using the + on the bottom left hand corner.

Once you have a blank tab opened, click on Extensions>Sheets2GCal> Import Calendar to Sheet.

Then select the calendar you want to sync with, adjust any other relevant settings, then click on the green button "Clear Sheet & Import Calendar".

A pop-up will appear warning you that the sheet will be cleared. Select Yes to import that calendar into the sheet.

Once you have designated that sheet to include your events for that specific calendar, input all your assignments/tasks you would like to keep track of in your Google calendar.

Step 6: Sync Data

Now comes the exciting part! Select the data you wish to sync from your Google Sheets. This could be events, appointments, deadlines, or any other information relevant to your calendar.

To sync those events, click on Extensions> Sheets2GCal> Export Sheet to Calendar.

Another sidebar will appear, select any remaining options and click on the green "Export (name of calendar)" button.

Step 7: Check Google Calendar

Once the sync process is complete, it's time to verify that the data has been successfully transferred. Open Google Calendar and navigate to the relevant dates to ensure that your events and appointments are now reflected in your calendar.

And there you have it! With the Sheets2GCal Google Sheets extension, you can streamline your workflow and say goodbye to tedious manual data entry. Whether you're managing personal schedules or collaborating with a team, this handy tool is sure to save you time and effort.
